How to choose the most appropriate centrality measure?

We propose a new method to select the most appropriate network centrality measure based on the user's opinion on how such a measure should work on a set of simple graphs. The method consists in: (1) forming a set F\cal F of candidate measures; (2) generating a sequence of sufficiently simple graphs that distinguish all measures in F\cal F on some pairs of nodes; (3) compiling a survey with questions on comparing the centrality of test nodes; (4) completing this survey, which provides a centrality measure consistent with all user responses. The developed algorithms make it possible to implement this approach for any finite set F\cal F of measures. This paper presents its realization for a set of 40 centrality measures. The proposed method called culling can be used for rapid analysis or combined with a normative approach by compiling a survey on the subset of measures that satisfy certain normative conditions (axioms). In the present study, the latter was done for the subsets determined by the Self-consistency or Bridge axioms.Comment: 26 pages, 1 table, 1 algorithm, 8 figure

THE RESULTS OF KINESIOTAPING IN PATIENTS WITH SCOLIOSIS

    Get PDF
The kinesiotaping method has put into practice on the Rehabilitation and Sport medicine chair of the RNIMU named by N.I. Pirogov which is situated in the Medical Rehabilitation Department of RDKB. This method showed high treatment efficacy and results were stable and continuous. Kinesiotaping isn’t the main treatment method of scoliosis, but its good efficacy in reaching particular rehabilitation goals, potentiation of some methods of treatment of scoliosis, pain elimination and so on, support the idea to invent this method in the rehabilitation process circle in case of such difficult disease as scoliosis

    E-expertise: modern collective intelligence

    No full text
This book focuses on organization and mechanisms of expert decision-making support using modern information and communication technologies, as well as information analysis and collective intelligence technologies (electronic expertise or simply e-expertise). Chapter 1 (E-Expertise) discusses the role of e-expertise in decision-making processes. The procedures of e-expertise are classified, their benefits and shortcomings are identified, and the efficiency conditions are considered. Chapter 2 (Expert Technologies and Principles) provides a comprehensive overview of modern expert technologies. A special emphasis is placed on the specifics of e-expertise. Moreover, the authors study the feasibility and reasonability of employing well-known methods and approaches in e-expertise. Chapter 3 (E-Expertise: Organization and Technologies) describes some examples of up-to-date technologies to perform e-expertise. Chapter 4 (Trust Networks and Competence Networks) deals with the problems of expert finding and grouping by information and communication technologies. Chapter 5 (Active Expertise) treats the problem of expertise stability against any strategic manipulation by experts or coordinators pursuing individual goals. The book addresses a wide range of readers interested in management, decision-making and expert activity in political, economic, social and industrial spheres

Shock-Wave Structure of Supersonic Jet Flows

    No full text
In the present paper, we give a brief overview of the studies of supersonic jet flows which were performed recently with the aim of gaining experimental data on the formation of the shock-wave structure and jet mixing layer in such flows. Considerable attention is paid to a detailed description of discharge conditions for supersonic jets, to enable the use of measured data for making a comparison with numerical calculations. Data on the 3D flow structure in the mixing layer of the initial length of a supersonic jet are reported. Scientific interest in this phenomenon is due to its practical significance in studying the possibility of intensifying the mixing process as well as in studying the sound-generation process

Analysis of foreign experience in implementing state policies to ensure energy supply to remote areas

    No full text
The article discusses the problems of providing consumers of electric energy in the decentralized energy supply zone by the example of economically developed countries with territories at the level of the Arctic Circle. An increase in the share of renewable energy sources in the energy balance of many fears as the main direction of regional energy development is shown. The energy policy of most Scandinavian states has a pronounced focus towards the maximum use of renewable energy sources along with the implementation of measures to save energy and increase energy efficiency. The provision on the priority use in the countries of the Arctic region of locally available energy sources, which include all types of renewable sources, as well as local hydrocarbons, is justified in order to ensure independence from external fuel supplies

Boundary Layer Transition Assessment on a Slender High-Speed Vehicle

© 2017, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc, AIAA. All rights reserved. To anticipate the aerodynamic performance of a slender high-speed vehicle throughout a trajectory, the correct determination of transition onset and extent are crucial parameters in the overall evaluation. Though various methods and correlations are worked out on canonical geometries such as flat plates and cones, the present paper will primarily focus on a slender high-speed vehicle concept. Apart from small leading edge radii and 3D flow effects, also practical considerations are included such as gaps and steps indivertibly present due to manufacturing and integration, differential thermal expansion at dissimilar material interfaces, joints etc. A preliminary assessment based on empirical correlations is challenged by a detailed experimental campaign supported by numerical CFD computations. Their applicability range and their limitations are assessed related to the observed flow phenomena.status: publishe
